Trailing by 153 runs, Bangladesh ended Day 2 at 175 for two at Stumps in the ongoing first Test match vs New Zealand in Mount Maunganui on Sunday.

 Responding to New Zealand's first innings score of 328, Bangladesh have started strongly with opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy edging towards a century.

 He will resume batting on Day 3 alongwith Mominul Haque. Hasan Joy has registered 70 runs off 211 balls and Mominul has added eight runs to the scoreboard.

 Najmul Hossain Shanto also made a decent contribution with a knock of 64 runs in 109 balls before losing his wicket in the 58th over.

 Meanwhile, Neil Wagner registered two wickets for the hosts. Earlier, a Devon Conway ton on Day 1 helped New Zealand reach 328 in 108.

1 overs. Will Young and Henry Nicholls also registered half-centuries for the hosts.

 Shoriful Islam and Mehidy Hasan were in good bowling form for Bangladesh and took three wickets each.
